- We are working with single blocks that are called "one blocks."
- After we have ten "one blocks," we can trade it for a "ten stick" which will help students can count by ten compared to counting all the blocks they have individually; one by one.
- If we have 3 ten sticks and 6 one blocks, we have a total of 36 blocks.
-By using ten sticks, students can easily count 10, 20, 30, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 which is 36. We have a bundle of three "10 sticks."
